UConn has landed one of the program’s major targets for the 2020 class as Javonte Brown-Ferguson has committed and will move into the 2020 class, he told Stockrisers.com. He chose the Huskies over Texas A&M and Kansas.
“I picked UConn because my family and I recognized it as the best fit for me and the best place for me to succeed,” Brown-Ferguson said. In addition, he took his official visit for ‘First Night’ which was the second to last week of October. He said: “The visit sealed the deal for me, it blew me away.”
Another part of his commitment was his comfort with what he was going into. Brown-Ferguson expects instant minutes and being able to contribute right away. “I’ll be one of the only bigs on the roster besides Josh Carlton and besides that, the move to the Big East was very intriguing.”
The move to the 2020 class has been something that is known, people have seen Brown-Ferguson as someone prepared for the next level but obviously it isn’t the choice of the people. So why did he do it?
“My Mom and Dad and my AAU coach/Uncle Shane James had the biggest impact on my decision. I decided to move to 2020 because it will be the best thing for me. I can get a head start on my school work and my development.”
