Colby Jones is down to seven, books an official visit

Colby Jones, EYBL’s breakout player of the spring, has cut his list down to seven. Mountain Brook/Alabama Fusion guard broke down his finalists for Stockrisers.

Iowa State: I have a great relationship with Coach Kane. Also, Coach Prohm and I have been talking more and more. The conference they’re in and the way Coach Prohm lets his guards play are similar the way I like to play so I feel like I would fit in great there.

Xavier: I have great relationships with the whole entire staff there and they all told me I’m a top priority for them. Coach Steele said I’m their main focus for my class so to hear that makes me more comfortable in what they see in me and my future.

Georgia: I feel like Coach Crean and Georgia will have a good year this year only in his second year there with the class he brought in and he’s coached many guards that have gone to the league so I know I would be led in the right direction if I went there. When I get there, the opportunity to play immediately will be there too.

Stanford: Coach Cohen has been recruiting me for over a year and when they finally offered me it was a great feeling. Great basketball school in a great conference with great academics so I feel like I would be in a great spot if I were to go There.

Yale: Coach Carberry and Coach Jones text me every other day telling me how much a priority and main focus I am for them. I really enjoyed my official when I went up there and they had a really good season and sent one player that played the same position I played to the draft so It goes to show you the type of program they have going on right now.

Auburn: They had a great year last year, Coach Prewitt and Coach Wes text me every-other day to let me know they still want me, so it’s good to know they’re still on me hard.

Alabama: I’m excited to see what Coach Oats brings to the table this year in his first year at Bama, I like the style of play he had at Buffalo and I feel like that style fits me well. Coach Pettway always tells me “man we gotta get you Colb,” so to hear that from a coach is always a blessing.

What’s next: Jones tells us that he’s also scheduled an official visit to Xavier for this upcoming weekend [August 1st].
