Breaking: Bryce McGowens will transfer to Lincoln Academy, will visit Georgia in August

Four-star rising junior, Bryce McGowens, tells Stockrisers that he will transfer to Lincoln Academy in Winston-Salem. The program is making a transition from Georgia and now have McGowens to provide instant impact.

He holds offers from Virginia Tech, Florida, Pittsburgh, LSU, among many others after a successful spring and school season.

Larry Davis will be the head coach of the program. He’s got 38 years of D1 basketball experience which includes stops at Cincinnati, Wake Forest, Furman, Minnesota, Ball State, and Delaware. He also worked at Oak Hill.

“Bryce has an opportunity to learn from and play for Coach Davis, who is a 38 year veteran Division I Head and Assistant basketball coach and we could not pass it up,” McGowens’ father told Stockrisers.

Here’s what Bryce told me on his transfer:

“Decided to transfer because it was a great opportunity to play for a former college coach with a lot of experience. Him and the coaching staff will teach my a lot of different things and get me physically and mentally ready for the college level.”

Next steps for his recruitment: He will take a visit to Georgia in August.
