Peach Jam Recap: Paolo Banchero

He’s completely dominated AAU season for the Seattle Rotary and had a breakout year during high school season, Paolo Banchero is one of the top prospects in the 2021 class and has improved almost everytime he’s stepped on the floor.

His recruitment has also seen it boom as he landed offers from Kentucky, Memphis, Alabama, Washington, Tennessee, with heavy-interest from Duke.

This week, Banchero and The Rotary we’re making a run for Peach Jam but just fell short. Here’s what he told Stockrisers on his experience:

“Nobody does it better than Nike!”

In addition, he gave his thoughts on this experience improving his game:

“Definitely feel like it improved my game. The EYBL is by far the best circuit and has the best players. I was challenged every game and had to perform, definitely made me better,” Banchero said.

Going back to his recruitment, he’s landed offers from tons of high major schools and we will only see that continue, especially after his dominant performances at Peach Jam.

“Recruiting has been going well. Been hearing from a lot of schools. Giving every school equal amount of attention as of right now.”

One school that is giving him attention, but is yet to offer? The Duke Blue Devils.

Coach K and/or a staffer was present at nearly all of Banchero’s games.

“Coach Scheyer keeps in close contact. Coach K came and watched my last 2 games. Great staff and Great school.”

Banchero has no visits planned as of now but says he will sit down in August to take the time to plan them.

Something I asked Banchero is the possibility of him reclassifying to 2020 because some coaches think he’s ready. Here’s what he said :

“Don’t plan on reclassing. Wanna experience the all-american games, hoop summit, senior year, etc.”
