Former Tulane commit Elijah Wood has found his new home. The four-star junior has committed to Rhode Island during his official visit this weekend, he told Stockrisers.
“Ever since Coach Cox and staff came to Rhode Island they have had nothing but winning history and March madness appearances and I want to be apart of that history,” Wood said.
While on his official visit this weekend Wood and his family were blown away with everything the school had to offer. Plus, Wood was extremely appreciative of the staffs treatment to not just him, but his family.
“The way me and my family were appreciated. They could’ve easily just treated me well but they gave my whole family a great time on the official visit.”
While on the visit, and having conversations with the staff, Wood told me that they compared him to one of the best players on the Rams roster.
“They compared me to Jeff [Dowtin] and I see why, he’s a great player and leader on and off the court. I hope I can live up to what he’s done at Rhode Island.”
Rivals has rated Wood as a four-star prospect in the Top-100 which gives David Cox his highest rated commit as head coach of the Rams, so what was his reaction along with his staff?
“The reaction from the staff was perfect, everyone was happy and it was all around my family. I’m glad they gave me the opportunity that they did.”
