His five-star status was already known prior to this weekend. Kennedy Chandler, one of the top-sophomore guards in the country, had an outstanding weekend.
He landed seven offers, including: Auburn, St. John’s, Arkansas, Alabama, Mizzou, Virginia Tech, and Florida State.
“I really like all the schools [that offered]. All of them are great schools both for sports and academic wise, and I can’t wait to meet the coaches from each school,” Chandler said.
This week, Chandler will have several schools come in. Florida State and Alabama, both of whom have offered, will see Chandler on Wednesday. Joining them is Tennessee’s Rick Barnes and his entire staff, as they will see him on Wednesday as well.
Chandler’s squad, Mokan Elite, finished the weekend with a 2-1 record, which placed them fifth. In the final game, he recorded 10 points and 10 assists, including the game winning points.
“I think I had played good this weekend but there is a lot of stuff I can improve on. I could improve on attacking the basked more instead of settling, that’s something my coach talked to me about, that and protecting the ball more.”
As for goals for the summer?
“Goals for the summer are to improve on my shooting and shooting deeper and better, and better on my off ball defense.”
