Tommy Murr is the nation’s leading scorer for the second straight year, his AAU coach discusses his game and recruitment.

4,000 points.

Joe Girard, a senior, just hit the feat recently.

Tommy Murr? 37 points away from 4,000 and he’s a junior who’s averaging 45 points per game. He’s also 592 points away from becoming Alabama’s all-time leading scorer.

He holds offers from Samford and Tennessee Tech but has over 35-40 schools interested including Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others.

“Tommy Murr is the single most underrated player I’ve EVER seen, let alone coached. His game is going thru the roof. He’s worked incredibly hard and the sky is literally the limit for this kid,” his AAU coach Scott Whittle said.

He’s labeled as a premier scorer. Every single night it seems like he’s putting up a crazy scoring total.

“Tommy Murr gets labeled as a premier scorer because he leads the country in scoring and has had 50+ points a dozen times and even eclipsed 60 this year.”

But his AAU coach, Scott Whittle said he could do more than score.

“But he’s an even better passer. His ability to make plays for others is his best overall attribute.”

That’s a major thing especially since he’s the best scorer in the country but can also dish the ball at a high level.

Friday night, Murr will have a chance to hit 4,000 points. Updates will be on twitter @jakeweingarten.
