Recruits leave impressed after St. John’s win over ranked Marquette.

I got the chance to catch up with highly-touted NY’ers Andre Curbelo and Zed Key, both were guests of St. John’s.

The Johnnies won that matchup and move to 13-1 on the season (1-1 in Big East).

Sold out crowd, plus the win over the ranked opponent, that left recruits impressed.

“Yes it was definitely an impressive game to watch. St. John’s has a great staff and an extremely talented mix of players that makes them one of the top teams in the country,” Zed Key said.

As for Andre Curbelo, he’s a top-100 prospect. He was left really impressed by the win.

“I really like the passion that the coaching staff shows towards their players, especially Coach Greg (St. Jean) with Shamorie Ponds. Big wins over teams like Marquette shows this team is definitely on the rise and the program is headed in the right direction,” Curbelo said.

Chris Mullin also had top-70 senior Lester Quinones in attendance, as well as 2021 five-star Jonathan Kuminga.
