City Of Palms: DJ Jeffries was spectacular at City Of Palms this past week. The Memphis signee has had a spectacular season overall, there’s never a night where you don’t see him doing something special during an Olive Branch game.
While at City Of Palms, Jeffries bumped into a familiar face, someone he hopes to see next year every single day, Trendon Watford. The Mountain Brook guard is what many believe the perfect final piece for a dream 2019 class for Penny Hardaway and the Tigers.
“I talk to him for a little bit I messed with him about Memphis he smiled,” Jeffries said on Watford.
But on a serious note, here’s what Jeffries said on Watford being the final piece of the puzzle for the Tigers:
“Trendon is a great player he can do a lot of things on the court, he’d be a great piece to add with the rest of us and I hope he joins us.”
As for facing adversity, Jeffries was previously committed to Kentucky. After a downfall between his family and the staff he decided to decommit and faced a lot of backlash from Kentucky fans.
“Just know if we play them, it’s going to be the same result as the game against Duke,” Jeffries said a few weeks back.
In addition, he had this to say on the doubters:
“It feels good, I came out this season trying to show everybody what I can do and I believe i’ve done a good job.”
As for the rest of the 2019 class which consists of Top-ranked prospect James Wiseman and four-star prospect Malcom Dandridge, Jeffries only had positive stuff to say on his 2019 class:
“And I think our class is good I think all of us can come in and make a big impact to go along with the guys there, but I hope we get trendon that’ll be nice piece to add.”
