After holding Trendon Watford and Mountain Brook to just 29 points last night, I caught up with Auburn signee and five-star Isaac Okoro.
We kept the discussion about how well his defense has been while at City Of Palms. Prior to the game against McEachern, Trendon Watford was averaging over 32ppg at City Of Palms. When defended by Isaac Okoro he scored 4pts on 1-7 shooting.
“I feel like i’m the best defensive player in the country,” Okoro told me.
He also added that he believes this McEachern team is the best defending team as a whole in America.
Next year he will play for Bruce Pearl at Auburn, and he believes that his defensive ability will translate at the next level.
“Defense is very important. I take pride in playing defense and locking up my opponents best player,” Okoro said about defense.
Tonight he competes for the City Of Palms championship, updates will be on my twitter @jakeweingarten.
