Week 3 of Jake’s Take!!!
Let’s roll, we answered as many questions as we can.
There’s a shot that Pittsburgh can land both Tyrese Samuel and Qudus Wahab. But if I ever had to choose between the two I’d say it’s more likely that Samuel commits. Jeff Capel’s system is a perfect match for Samuel. The 6-8 wing can run the floor really well, freak athleticism, and is a good on-ball defender.
For Wahab, you have teams like Georgetown and UConn who are on the mend. It’s the same for Samuel who’s got UConn as one of his top-teams right now. He also told Stockrisers he could potentially schedule a Georgetown visit.
I’d say Michigan State and Kentucky should be the other team’s to look out for. From what I’ve been told he speaks highly of both UK and MSU, the offer from Kentucky is more recent as well.
As for Michigan State who has Rocket Watts and Malik Hall, there wouldn’t be any problem inserting Edwards into that class. With Kentucky, I’d expect the team has more returners next year + the class that Calipari already has built.
I think Memphis will land Trendon Watford, and I think that became my choice for Watford right when Wiseman pulled the unicorn out and committed.
Last night DJ Jeffries played against Watford, I caught up with Jeffries after and asked him what he told Trendon, here’s what he said:
“I told him that we’re waiting on him to join us at Memphis.”
It’s only a matter of time for when Watford announces, you still have some other schools involved like LSU, Indiana, etc, but I’d give my pick to Memphis.
I reported a few days back that it’s pretty much a done deal for Gonzaga landing Oumar Ballo, it’s just a matter of time for when it’s announced.
