“I’m super excited to prepare and begin this journey being a Wolverine.”
Those are the words of 2020 prospect Zeb Jackson who just announced his commitment to Michigan.
Jackson is the first commit for Michigan’s 2020 class who also has a handful of other prospects on the program’s radar for that class, Ethan Morton being one who landed an offer during his visit on campus this weekend.
As for Jackson, he has been recruited by Michigan for quite some time, it was more than then the rich history at UM that landed him.
“I chose Michigan because of my relationship with Coach Beilein and the rest of the staff and I’ve known one of their assistants since the beginning of my recruitment. It also feels like home every time I’m on a visit, the situation is perfect, and I have really good relationships with all the players.”
As for relationships with players, Jackson has a close bond with Junior guard Zavier Simpson who coincidentally will be graduating the year before Zeb Jackson takes his place on the roster.
Now, Jackson committing just about two years before he graduates he will have time to prepare both on and off the floor; “I can focus more on my high school season and preparing my body and learning the Michigan system at the same time,” Jackson told Stockrisers.
“I was the first 2020 Coach Beilein offered, and he’s only offered one other 2020 up to this point that doesn’t play my position. We talk often and he always tells me how much they love me and how much they wanted me.”
While on the topic of 2020’s he [Jackson] added he is going to try to recruit Ben Carlson, Walker Kessler, and Ethan Morton. “It’s something I need to discuss with the coaches more,” Jackson stated.
What a journey it has been for Jackson, just this February he picked up his first high major offer from Cincinnati, here’s what he had to say on proving the doubters wrong: “My message to all the doubters would be that I’ve been working really hard for this and I’m just happy to be in the position I am now.”
