2022 five-star Dior Johnson who currently holds 13 division-1 offers and scored 1k points in middle school (on high-school level) will take his talents to IMG Academy.
Johnson ran with City Rocks this year but towards the end of the summer, after Peach Jam was complete Johnson didn’t wanna stop competing, he ran with Georgia Stars 17U squad to finish off his strong July. LSU was the latest to offer which was last week.
StockRisers caught up with Johnson prior to his announcement, here’s what he had to say on his decision to attend IMG:
“IMG is a great fit for me both academically and athletically. This will impact be both on and off the court due to the fact while I’m chasing my dreams and working hard to become the best basketball player I can be on the court, off the court I can also further my education at a school with great educational courses. To go with that the environment is like no other, they have one of the best campuses I’ve ever step foot on. All of that is why I chose IMG.”
Johnson indicated to me he isn’t sure how this will affect AAU right now, “I’m just focused on the high school season,” Johnson told me.
When I asked him who he’s looking forward to playing with he said everyone but when he threw some names out there he said: “Yes looking forward to playing with big Armando Bacot also Jarace Walker which is top in our 2022 class as well.”
He also mentioned 2019 five-star Josh Green and 2020 four-star Noah Farrakhan.
