This is a new series on Stockrisers called “Visit Recap” we will recap any unofficial/official visit. It will be an overview of the visit as we will interview the prospects and go behind the scenes.

In this first edition of the series, we will speak to Malik Thomas. He is a freshman at Damien High School (CA) and he starts for Damien scoring 17 points per game as a freshman and is highly touted among the 2021 class. He holds offers from Washington, Pepperdine, and NAU.

UCLA, USC, and San Diego State among the schools that have shown interest in Thomas. He was the MVP of the “Under Armour Next” game which included some of the top incoming freshmen in the country. Thomas scored 32pts in the game.

We were able to speak to Thomas while he was on the University Of Washington campus attending the Huskies matchup against Washington State.

The Visit:

“Toured the campus, watched practice, went into the weight room where they explained to me how sports science works and how they used it on their players. Then we looked at the campus which is very beautiful and then the rivalry game against Washington State which was really good.”

Then Malik was telling me how he spoke with Coach Hopkins and the rest of the Huskies coaching staff:

“He [Hopkins] spoke about how their program is built, and how I like the campus. We also talked about how I fit in and how it’s very special to be a Washington Huskie”

What’s next?

Thomas plans on visiting UCLA before the AAU season starts but besides that, he will focus on getting better and the upcoming AAU season with West Coast Elite.
