’19 Four-Star F Jake Kyman talks recruiting

One word to describe Santa Margarita forward Jake Kyman…

Underrated.

He’s held Shareef O’Neal to ZERO points when guarding him and scored 32pts to lead his team to a victory over Crossroads.

“I’m so happy for him and his success, he deserves it. He has done it the right way, and that right way is HARD WORK and perseverance,” said Coley Kyman the father of Jake.

Kyman holds offers from USC, LSU, BYU, UCSB, and Pepperdine.

He spoke with me about schools in contact with him and who’s been on him the hardest:

USC: USC is great. When I visited it had that home feel to it, also watched a practice and some games.I love all the coaches and what they are about and they’ve told me that’d I be a great fit there.

Santa Clara: Santa Clara is also very nice place. I’ve been up there a couple times and what they are about is a family-like environment and I like that. The coaches are super interested and we talk about numerous things even outside of basketball.

UCSB: UCSB is a place I love because it’s another place close to home and also has that home feel to it, the campus is right next to the beach too so can’t complain about that either. I love the coaches and their new philosophies to move the direction of the program for the better, they said I’m a big part of those changes for them to be successful.

Interest

Kyman added that Michigan, UCLA, Gonzaga, Arizona State, Washington, Utah, and Colorado have stayed in contact with him and he’d like to visit those schools.

No visits scheduled right now.
